Andy Surfing Pipe

Later on that same Thursday, we went to hang out at Pipe for awhile. Andy was out surfing and I took a couple of pics of him. That place is a lot more dangerous than it looks. Earlier in the day someone was taken away in an ambulance while we were at Rocky Point, and shortly after Andy got out, we saw a guy get helped out with blood all over his head and leg. They rushed him to the parking lot where they had him taken away in an ambulance also. Crazy people out at Pipe!

Surfing Rocky Point

Last weekend we surfed Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Rocky Point. Thursday was big and a little weird, not lining up right most the time. The photo here is one of the rare perfect ones that came through right in the beginning. This one here is Andy getting a pretty sick barrel. He got like three of these before any of us paddled out. After that, nobody got any waves this good. I got completely destroyed on this day. The offshore winds were really strong and I got blinded by water, then tossed right over the falls on one of the sets. I stayed under a really long time, just pinned on the bottom, came up and only got one breath of air before the next one slammed on my head and brought me down again, then one more, and after that I was in 2 feet of water and drifting over the inside reef so I just went in. It was a pretty fun day though.D Friday was incredible, and of course we didn't take pictures. The same group...Andy, Scotty, Me, Tyler, Greg, Chris, and John all went out. The waves were a little smaller, but super clean and perfect. We all got really good barrels. They were super easy to make it out cause the waves were so good. I did see Andy drop in on a big bomb and slide out in the barrel on one....he got worked by that wave. Also on that day, Chris got his wet-top ripped off his body by a wave. I have never heard of that happening. It ripped the string in half that ties on to his boardshorts, and pulled it over his head and his arms, leaving just the neck part attached to his head. Those wet-tops are so tight they are hard to get off out of the water, so that was pretty amazing. The next day Tyler and I went back again and took pictures of each other. The waves were pretty crappy, and it was really windy out. Still a good time, but nothing like Friday.
